October Rain

Well, I guess this is National Nor'easter Month, 'cause we've got another blowing in. The biped and I plan on being inside all day. He's going to light fires and I'm going to sleep. I think he's burning his manuscript....I sure wish there was a McDonald's around here....I could go for a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit...

Between storms, we were able to spend a little time out of doors. Here is the ocean at Race Point yesterday. Pretty tough stuff.

And here are a couple shots of sunset from the night before. Check out that car!!

The biped and I also took an EXTREMELY long walk around Clapps Pond. I'm all for walking, but honestly. That trail never ends!

Nor'easter!!

We've had some gray October weather here. Windy. Rainy. Cold. The biped has been building lots of fires and I've stayed mostly under the covers...it's COLD!

Here's a sailboat that flipped in the storm...if you can make it out...

Here's the beach a few nights ago.

And a beautiful sunset--we love our off-season sunsets!!

Here are some gull prints!

It all makes me think fondly back to those last warm days in September when the sky was blue and the water was clear. Here are some shots from back then down by the stairs to the harbor off of Snail Road.

Makes you want to jump right in, doesn't it?

Aster Place

How could fall get any better? Fall flowers, that's how.

The weather has been stunning, then rainy, stunning, then rainy. Who could ask for more? The biped has been a little fireplace crazy, lighting one up when it gets below 62 degrees, but it's warm! And with these beautiful asters in the garden, September and October are a pleasure.

Bon Anniversaire

It's my third anniversary with the biped. Three years. How they've flown by.

And my September vacation is over. It's back to work. Although I did have some good times the past few weeks, enjoying the cooler weather and the dry, sunny days. Not to mention those sunsets. Here I am playing in the garden.

But before we knew it, it was sweater weather! This is my first sweater of Fall 2009.

And the biped rearranged my downstairs bed. It's a chihuahua California King. And it's within a good distance of some heating vents, so it will be nice and warm. It has already become my favorite spot!

Here's me on a walk I took out in the Wellfleet Ponds with some friends. Another beautiful day.

And here's some crazy lady who came to the house the other night. She said she had been at something called Fagbash. Sounds crazy to me.

She was as beautiful as a fall flower....

I am a California native transplanted to the East Coast and have grown to accept both the snowy weather of winter and the hard-bitten attitudes of New Englanders. Since I moved here in October of 2006, I think I've become something of a native, although the locals will always call me a "bark-ashore". If you have any questions, just ask!
