Sunday Morning

It's been awhile, I know. But the biped has been busy and we have been a little technology deprived. We just got internet at our new home yesterday, so now I'm back on track.

While the past few weeks have been eventful (the biped completed a first draft of his book, we moved out of Mechanic Street and relocated to Jon and Tommy's in Dorchester temporarily, and now we've finally gotten into our new home on Commercial Street in Provincetown's smart West End), we have still taken the time to smell the flowers. And springtime in Provincetown offers no lack of flowers.

It also offers no lack of rain--so first, I put on my new quilted spring coat.

There's the first to arrive, forsythia

Tulip magnolia...

Flowering pear...

Purple azalea...

Cherry blossoms...

Here are some tulips (starting to fade) in my new garden that the biped tends to!

We also have this gorgeous, gigantic lilac bush--in full flower!!

And my favorite of all--the beautiful chestnut tree!

In Memoriam

The biped's grandmother passed away a few days ago. She was 94. We are both so glad that we got to see her just a few weeks ago when we were driving through. For 94, she seemed in great shape.

She wanted to stay in her home, independent, until her time came and she was able to do that. At 94, she lived alone with her dog Mickey. She taught the biped to play euchre and pinochle and once said, "Don't waste your life trying to please other people. You'll never make them happy and only make yourself unhappy." Wise words.

Provincetown, Massachusetts, United States
I am a California native transplanted to the East Coast and have grown to accept both the snowy weather of winter and the hard-bitten attitudes of New Englanders. Since I moved here in October of 2006, I think I've become something of a native, although the locals will always call me a "bark-ashore". If you have any questions, just ask!
