Around the World

What a whirlwind! After that "Hurricane Bill" blew through here (and bent over all the hollyhocks!)...

... the biped and I left on a quick trip to New York City. What a dump! Fine, it's actually an okay place, but I think it could be a little dog-friendlier. I was kicked out of the Chelsea Market (no, it's not a grocery store, it's like a mall) and the High-Line Park!! A PUBLIC PARK!!! I was pretty ticked off, I can assure you. And I told the biped in no uncertain terms that there was no way I was ever going to live in that city. EVER!!

But he seemed to have an okay time. We stayed with our friend, Matt (thank you!!) and the biped went gallivanting all over. He went to DUMBO for Kaylie Jones book launch for her new memoir, Lies My Mother Never Told Me. It's an amazing book and is getting great reviews!

His friend Michelle was there. And all the folks from the Wilkes Creative Writing crowd.

We took some walks around the city.

The biped went to a Jack Tworkov exhibit that he said was great. Tworkov worked in New York and Provincetown--just a few houses down from where we live now!

Then he took a train to Brooklyn...

... to see his friend Jessica and her baby, Ryan. He went on and on about Ryan and how great he was and how cute and how much he loved him. I'm not fooled. The biped is just angry and jealous because I was hanging out with Matt and Peter the night before. What else was I going to do? The biped locked me in a box while he went running around! Screw him!

Anyway, I got over that. But not that night he stayed out until 3am!

Here's a weeping willow.

Who?

Provincetown, Massachusetts, United States
I am a California native transplanted to the East Coast and have grown to accept both the snowy weather of winter and the hard-bitten attitudes of New Englanders. Since I moved here in October of 2006, I think I've become something of a native, although the locals will always call me a "bark-ashore". If you have any questions, just ask!
