For New Years, God decided to give Provincetown a foot of snow.
I have to admit, it's really beautiful when everything is covered in snow. And it's pretty to watch falling. But being outside in it.....um, I'm not such a big fan.
But of course the biped insists. He and his crazy friend Jon wanted to walk into town.
Jon made a snow angel.
And we ran into Brad and Maria.
Some lady gave me a fisherman's hat to protect me.
Here are a couple shots to give you an idea of how deep it is.
And this is me wearing my green contact lenses!
Have a safe, prosperous and happy New Year!!

Boxing Day Exploits
Apparently, Boxing Day is traditionally about charity--it was the old Catholic holiday of St. Stephen when Wenceslas gave all that stuff away. That, at least, according to the New York Times. But I can honestly say, I didn't give anything to anyone today!
I did, though, go to sunset at Herring Cove. I ran into Rod in his van there. It's a hot van.
He let me drive it around a little bit. If you look close, you can see me behind the wheel!!
There's a polar bear rug in there!!

Happy Holidays!
Merry Christmas! Merry Christmas to everyone!
This is my second Christmas of life here on earth. I've learned that this is an important time of year to most bipeds, but what do you think I get stuck with? Sure, he got me a new sweater, but what else? He left me as usual to go to a dinner across the street. All I get to do is hang out with the dust bunnies.
I do like the sweater, though....
It's real snug. And I think the high collar adds a little drama.
And it has a nice holiday motif.
It was beautiful here today in Provincetown. Most people said it was more like Easter than Christmas. It was in the fifties, a little breezy, but clear and sunny.
The biped went for a walk this morning with that Stella.
I didn't get a walk this Christmas. Hell, I try to walk to the end of Mechanic Street and the biped is after me, "Come on, Clovis. Come here. Here, Clovis." Yeah, right.

Snow Falling on Chihuahuas
The biped hasn't had internet for two days and both of us have been bouncing off the walls! I've got a bunch of pictures that I've been wanting to post. I'll start with a recap of our recent turbulent weather to go along with our turbulent political and economic times.
It was a one-two punch of a storm, first a good 10 inches on Friday evening, then Sunday another round of snow.
Outside our door...
The snowgarden....
Looking west on Bradford....
Looking east on Bradford...
The oldest house in Provincetown in the snow...
The biped and I drove to Boston on Sunday to see the Gold Dust Orphans' All About Christmas Eve (which was hilarious, but more on that later). The roads were a mess with heavy, wet snow coming down. Here's a bunch of Ptown pictures from Saturday. It was a real winter wonderland.
And as if by saying it, the words became reality: I mentioned dog booties on Friday and on Sunday morning I was presented with a gift from Stella, Tom and Scott's chocolate lab. Stella is a little nuts, but very sweet. So she gives me these neon yellow booties.
Here's a video clip of me in them. The biped and his friend Jon are complete sickos. They're the ones screaming in the background. Needless to say, the boots are going to take some getting used to.

Blizzard!!!
The snow has started falling and I just made a desperate foray into the wild for bathroom purposes. This may be the last time I use outdoor facilities for a couple days. It freezes my toes! And I refuse to wear those insane little dog booties. They make me crazy on my feet!
The biped is all psyched up for some party he's going to tonight. As usual I am not invited. Here is a quick shot of the gift he's bringing for the grab bag. Wonder which lucky sucker is going to get a sandwich press and a space-age potato peeler. He's wrapping it in newspaper and decorating it with color images of some of our local notables clipped from the newspaper...
It's only been snowing for an hour or so and already the streets are white!
Here's a peak at Mechanic Street...

Helluva Town
The biped and I spent the last weekend in New York City. I told him to pack the camera, but of course he forgot. If it isn't right in front of him, he just walks away.
That said, it was a busy and traumatic weekend for us both. While he went to go see Liza at the Palace....
I was stuck in the fleabag Hotel Chelsea, where even the bedbugs are skeeved out. Seriously, the carpet was so filthy, I wouldn't even pee on it.
Then, it was like some sort of crazy baby tour. Everywhere we went, there were babies. Babies, babies and more babies. Grace, Lyla, Talia, Ryan, Bee. And as tough as it is for me to admit this, I am not a big fan of babies. In fact, they scare the hell out of me.
And the biped checked out a couple galleries that were showing work from Ptown artists. The Babcock Gallery is showing a group of E. Ambrose Webster paintings from the 1913-1916 period.
And Elspeth Halvorson has some beautiful box constructions at the Hollis Taggart Callery.
Now we're safely arrived back in Ptown where we were welcomed by this beautiful sunset tonight.
And there's word of a snowstorm tomorrow. It's going to be a fun weekend. On tap are: the Worst Christmas Party Ever III, Peter Donnelly at the Post Office, some shindig at the Ptown Theater and on Sunday, All About Christmas Eve by the Gold Dust Orphans. That should be plenty for the holidays.

Holiday Spirits
The holidays are coming and the biped is coming home drunk more and more frequently. But why focus on the negative? It's the holidays!
Here is my favorite holiday present--my bunny. I love to drag him under the blankets with me and cuddle with him.
Here is how sweetly I treat that bunny.
Here I am in a winter scarf.
God knows, there's more than enough to worry about, economic collapse, corruption in government, devastating climate change, but like Starsky & Cox say, we must not think bad thoughts! We're Americans, after all!!

Catching Up
The biped has been preoccupied with "schoolwork" and "writing" his "novel". So I've been stuck here running around in circles on the rug. But there have been some moments of light so far this holiday season.
Here's when I was over at Dave and Nathan's for pie.
This is the pie I made. It wasn't easy, I almost burnt my paws.
Here's a photo from the lighting of the Pilgrim Monument I wasn't allowed to go to 'cause I'm a dog.
Here's one of me locked in mortal combat with the biped.
And here's me on one of our visits to Frank at the bakery.
I also picked a little tune from the Depression that I thought was funny. It fits today's environment and I've updated it.
Fun, huh?

Bushie blew the whistle.
Paulson rang the bell.
Wall Street gave the signal
And the country went to hell.
Fun, huh?

Who?
- Clovis
- Provincetown, Massachusetts, United States
- I am a California native transplanted to the East Coast and have grown to accept both the snowy weather of winter and the hard-bitten attitudes of New Englanders. Since I moved here in October of 2006, I think I've become something of a native, although the locals will always call me a "bark-ashore". If you have any questions, just ask!
